Product Introduction

For commercial and industrial use - carbon steel check valve

The carbon steel check valve prevents backflow in the system. They do this in many ways. Some are swing check valves with simple swing discs. While many have a single disc and are very simple to operate, others have dual discs that oscillate on a central axis. While many different types exist, they all have one job: prevent fluid from flowing backwards. In terms of composition, one of the most commonly used materials for manufacturing check valves is carbon steel. Carbon steel check valves are used in a variety of industrial applications due to their impressive properties. Carbon steel check valves are durable and can easily withstand high pressure and high temperatures. An important factor to consider when purchasing a check valve is the amount of pressure required to open the valve. When the required differential pressure is high, there may be a pressure drop across the valve. For some applications this may not have a significant impact on the results, but in many cases the pressure must remain constant.

Carbon Steel Check Valve Application

H41H carbon steel lift check valve is widely used in textile, power station, petrochemical, heating and cooling, pharmaceutical, shipbuilding, metallurgy, light industry, environmental protection and other fields.

Check valves made of carbon steel rather than stainless steel typically contain more carbon material. Research and industry testing show that more carbon material makes valve assemblies stronger and more durable. Therefore, such check valves are ideal in systems that generate huge pressures, as they are not prone to bending or breaking in such conditions. Carbon steel check valves easily facilitate the flow of water, steam, hydrocarbons and petrochemicals.

Check valves made from carbon steel are very effective in hydraulic-based processes and applications because carbon steel is resilient to the corrosive tendencies of water and other liquids. Carbon steel check valves are also widely used in chemical plants and power plants. This special check valve type prevents leaks and pressure spikes from the return line, as well as reverse flow through the hydraulic motor. In addition, the natural design of the check valve makes it easy to maintain. Since check valves made of carbon steel are frequently required in various industries, many manufacturers have created special tools to maintain the efficiency of such valves.

On the scale of check valve composition, valves made of carbon are one step lower than those made of chrome alloy steel. This is because chromium alloys contain chromium and molybdenum, which make equipment more resistant to the combination of extreme pressure and temperature, as well as oxidation and scaling. However, there is no doubt that carbon steel check valves still offer many advantages and are generally not as expensive as all-aluminum check valves.

Different parts of the check valve can be constructed of different materials. Just because it's called a "carbon steel check valve" doesn't mean all of its components are made of this material. The seat is what makes the seal between the disc and the body; it is usually made of some type of rubber. The disc is the main part of the valve and keeps water from flowing in the wrong direction. Discs are usually made of stainless steel because of its strength and corrosion resistance. Please contact us to view our full line of carbon steel check valves.
