What is welded globe valves？

3. Most of those with lower pressure rating and smaller diameter are socket welding, and those with higher pressure rating are often butt welding. And 100% flaw detection test is required for butt welding to ensure no leakage.

4. Socket welding requires a difference in diameter to insert welding, but there is no requirement for butt welding.

5. The requirements for butt welding are generally higher than those for socket welding, and the quality after welding is also good, so the testing methods are relatively strict. Butt welding is done with radiographic inspection, and socket welding is done with magnetic particle or penetration testing (such as carbon steel for magnetic powder, stainless steel for penetration).
