Forged Steel Gate Valve

As a kind of gate valve, all gate valves processed with forging materials are collectively referred to as forged steel gate valves. Forging materials include A105, F11, F5, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, etc. Forged steel gate valves often referred to in China usually refer to small-diameter forged steel gate valves.

Forged steel gate valves are suitable for demanding process applications. When open, media will flow through the valve with minimal turbulence and pressure drop and industries that require isolation of viscous fluids and liquids.

The forged steel gate valve has small fluid resistance and small torque required for opening and closing. It can be used in the ring network pipeline where the medium flows in two directions, that is to say, the flow direction of the medium is not restricted. When fully open, the sealing surface is less eroded by the working medium than the globe valve. The body structure is relatively simple, the manufacturing process is good, and the structure length is relatively short.

Advantage

Most of the forged steel gate valves are of reduced diameter design. Compared with the cast steel gate valve of the same diameter, the flow rate is slightly smaller, but the pressure and temperature range of the forged steel gate valve is higher than that of the cast steel valve, and the sealing performance is also much better than that of the cast steel gate valve. Longer, the flow direction of the medium is not restricted like other gate valves.

4. The gate is placed vertically in the valve body, while the disc of the globe valve is placed in the valve body horizontally, so the structural length is shorter than that of the globe valve. 

5. The internal medium channel of the forged steel gate valve body is straight, and the medium does not change its flow direction when it flows through the gate valve, so the fluid resistance is small.

6. The medium flow direction of the socket welded forged steel gate valve is not restricted, does not disturb the flow, and does not reduce the pressure. The sealing performance is very good and the sealing surface is less eroded when fully open.

7. The movement direction of the forged steel gate valve is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, and can be fully opened and fully closed. Choose different materials, can be applied to water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing medium, urea and other media.

Installation points

1. The installation position, height, and direction of import and export must meet the design requirements, and the connection should be firm and tight.

2. For all kinds of manual valves installed on the thermal insulation pipeline, the handle shall not be downward.

3. Visual inspection must be carried out before the valve is installed. The nameplate of the valve should meet the requirements of the current national standard "General Valve Mark" GB 12220. For the valve whose working pressure is greater than 1.0 MPa and plays the role of cutting off the main pipe, the strength and tight performance test should be carried out before installation, and it is allowed to be used after passing the test. During the strength test, the test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure, and the duration is not less than 5 minutes. The valve housing and packing should be qualified without leakage. During the tightness test, the test pressure is 1.1 times the nominal pressure; the test pressure should meet the requirements of the GB 50243 standard for the duration of the test, and it is qualified if there is no leakage on the sealing surface of the gate.
