Soft Seal Gate Valve

Soft-sealed gate valve, also known as soft seated gate valve, the opening and closing part of the soft-sealed gate valve is the gate, the movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, the gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. The gate has two sealing surfaces. The two sealing surfaces of the most commonly used mode gate valve form a wedge shape. The wedge shape angle varies with the valve parameters.

Application of soft sealing gate valve:

The main purpose of soft sealing gate valve is water supply system, warm water and cold water system, and the temperature is generally required to be less than 80°;

Advantages of soft sealing gate valve:

1. Exquisite appearance and light weight: the valve body is made of spherical black cast iron, and its weight is about 20%~30% smaller than that of traditional gate valves, which is convenient for transportation, installation and maintenance;

2. Gate rubber binding: The gate is integrated with high quality rubber for internal and external binding. Rubber vulcanization technology guarantees precise gate geometry after vulcanization.

3. No groove groove design: No groove channel design structure, sediment, iron filings, sundries, etc. will not be deposited in the valve bottom groove, and the sealing life is long.

Soft sealing gate valve material

1, the valve body material

Cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, 316L should be the main ones, and the grade and actual physical and chemical test data of cast iron should be indicated.

2, the material of the valve stem

Strive for stainless steel stem (2CR13), and large-diameter valves should also be stainless steel embedded stems.

3, Nut material

It adopts cast aluminum brass or cast aluminum bronze, and its hardness and strength are greater than that of the valve stem.

4, Stem bushing material

Its hardness and strength should not be greater than that of the valve stem, and it should not form electrochemical corrosion with the valve stem and valve body under the condition of water immersion.

5, the material of the sealing surface

① The types of soft sealing gate valves are different, and the sealing methods and material requirements are different;

② For ordinary wedge gate valves, the material, fixing method and grinding method of the copper ring should be explained;

③ Physicochemical and hygienic testing data of soft sealing gate valve and valve plate rubber lining material;

6, valve shaft packing

① Because the soft sealing gate valve in the pipe network is usually opened and closed infrequently, the packing is required to be inactive for several years, and the packing will not age, so that the sealing effect can be maintained for a long time;

② The valve packing should also withstand frequent opening and closing, the sealing effect is permanent;

③ In view of the above requirements, the valve shaft packing shall not be replaced for life or more than ten years;

④ If the packing needs to be replaced, the design of the pneumatic valve should consider the measures to be replaced under the condition of water pressure.
