Product Overview
Through conduit gate valve is a typical parallel gate valve. Our through conduit gate valves in two series: slab gate valve and expanding gate valve. The closure member(gate/disc) of a through conduit gate valve is a slab of metal with a porthole at the bottom. It is provided with floating seats that are spring energized and forced against the disc by fluid pressure. When the valve is fully open, the porthole in the disc engages the valve flow passage port. When the valve is fully closed, the upper solid part of the slab blocks up the valve flow like a blind flange.
The through conduit expanding gate valve is developed on the basis of slab gate valve. Instead of one "slab", the disc consists of two halves with a wedge-shaped interface. Both the female and male gates are provided with complementary opposed inner faces, each formed with two angular-related surface portions diverging transversely. The two halves(gates) are interlinked so that they wedge apart when being moved into the fully open or closed positions, but relax in the intermediate position during the disc travelling stroke. The wedge mechanism ensures tight seal on both upstream and downstream seating surfaces even at low pressure levels.
Characteristics Of The Through Conduit
Through Conduit gate valves can be used in many applications. Such as oil & gas,petrochemical, power plant and mining industries.
They allow the fluid to flow in a fully open position and be restricted in the fully closed position, with minimal load losses. Not recommended for intermediate positions.
Gate valves are bidirectional and can be installed horizontally or vertically.
Design Features
From the perspective of structural style, straight-through pipeline gate valves can be divided into two types: valves with diversion holes and valves without diversion holes.
The valve disc and valve seat seals are repeatedly treated by special process and protected by multiple seals, which have the characteristics of anti-corrosion, anti-penetration, anti-wear and long service life;
The valve seat adopts soft and hard double sealing design, which has reliable sealing performance;
With full-bore design, the flow resistance coefficient and pressure loss are very small;
When the valve is fully opened, the medium erosion on its sealing surface is less than other valves;
The straight-through pipeline gate valve with the diversion hole installed on the pipeline can also be directly cleaned by the pipeline cleaner;
For regulating structure, the valve has good flow regulating ability;
There are no space restrictions for valve installation, i.e. parallel and vertical installations are allowed.

Through Conduit Slab Gate Valve
Through conduit slab gate valve are an alternative to ball valves for transmission pipelines. The choice is very often based on past customer satisfaction, more than any technical consideration. KA through conduit valves feature standard principles of this well known type of product. The disc is of slab type gate, seat rings are floating, energized by means of multiple springs, and the line fluid pressure pushes the upstream ring against the disc, thus assuring the sealing. The system allows the so called "self relieving" effect, i.e. any over-pressure acting in the body cavity is discharged in the line when force caused by the over-pressure on the seats exceeds the force provided by the springs. At the same time, the construction permits the double block and bleed functioning meaning that pressure applied contemporaneously upstream and downstream pushes both seats against the disc and opening the body cavity bleed relieves any pressure and fluid in the body cavity.
